Graphite Rotor for Aluminum Smelting
Graphite Rotor is an essential part of aluminium alloy smelting machine, which including rotor pole and nozzle, it is widely used to refine and degassing in aluminium and zinc industry.
Description
graphite rotors
Graphite rotors play a key role in aluminium degassing. They remove hydrogen and impurities from molten aluminium, which is critical for improving the quality of cast aluminium products. In aluminium smelting, unwanted gases like hydrogen often enter the melt. This happens when water vapor or moisture reacts with the hot aluminium. If not removed, hydrogen forms bubbles inside the solid metal and leads to porosity or cracks in the final casting.
To prevent these issues, manufacturers use a process called inert gas degassing. The graphite rotor is the heart of this system. It injects inert gases, such as argon or nitrogen, into the molten aluminium and stirs the liquid to help release trapped hydrogen.

The graphite rotor has two main parts: a hollow shaft and a rotor head or impeller. The shaft connects to a degassing system that delivers inert gas into the aluminium melt. The rotor spins rapidly, forcing the gas out through small openings at the rotor head.As the rotor spins, it breaks the gas into many small bubbles. These bubbles rise through the molten metal and bond with the hydrogen particles. This bonding pulls hydrogen out of the melt and carries it to the surface, where it escapes into the air.
Product Description
When casting aluminum melt, the gas in aluminum solution can be discharged through graphite rotor to avoid pores in aluminum casting and improve the quality of aluminum ingot.
Feature of Graphite Rotor
Our company uses high-grade and relatively high purity extruded graphite materials to process degassing graphite rotor for aluminum smelting, which is characterized by high density, high strength, excellent thermal shock resistance, good stability under high temperature working environment and non wettability to molten aluminum. It is widely used in aluminum casting industry.
Customized products
We can provide not only graphite material for degassing rotor, but also finished rotors.
In order to improve the service life of our graphite rotor, our company has developed anti-oxidation coating technology to significantly increase its service life.

SHJ has a variety of mechanical processing production lines, customized processing according to drawings, while meeting customers' different precision requirements, select the most cost-effective processing technology with the shortest processing time.
The main reason for the damage of the graphite rotor for aluminum smelting is high temperature oxidation. The main component of graphite is carbon. Graphite will be oxidized in an air condition of more than 600℃. The service life of the graphite rotor after anti-oxidation treatment will increase by 3-4 times compared with ordinary products. Before immersing the graphite rotor in the aluminum liquid, preheat about 100mm above the liquid surface for 5min~10min; before the rotor is immersed in the liquid, the gas must be introduced; the gas supply can be stopped after the rotor raises the liquid level.
Packaging and shipping
Customized packaging according to customer needs and product characteristics, we can provide customers with laser marking, clean and sealed packaging of purified products, cartons, wooden boxes and other different packaging options.

According to the cargo weight and delivery requirements, choose the most cost-effective transportation method, express, sea, airway, railway, multimodal transportation are available.
