Broken Graphite Electrodes During Smelting
(1) Broken electrode body
One is that the electrode may have structural defects and lower strength; Second, there is still a short arc operation and a large lateral impact force of collapsing material in smelting; The three - phase electrode on the furnace is not vertical and there are hanging furnace slag or scraping furnace cover phenomenon. It's very brittle and very loud when it breaks.
(2) Broken bottom of the electrode body
First, the structure of the electrode end is loose or there are dark lines, the joints and holes are improperly matched, or the linear expansion coefficient of the material difference does not match; second, the phase-shaping electrode is not concentric, the electrode stroke is too long or the lifting is not sensitive; the third is the unreasonable fabric in the furnace, there are non-conductive objects under the electrodes, etc. It's not loud when it breaks but leans harder.
(3) The joint is broken and irregular
One is that the taper of the joint is different or the ellipse of the joint hole is too large; the other is that the contact resistance is too high due to the excessive dust in the hole during connection, and the local oxidation of the joint thread is too fast; the third is that the electrode connection is not in place and the torque requirement is not met, resulting in loosening ; Fourth, the handle is tilted, the electrode and the furnace cover hole are not concentric, etc. The sound is crisp and small when broken.
(4) The joints are broken in a regular pattern
First, the quality of the joint itself varies greatly, and the strength of the joint cannot meet the needs of the smelting furnace conditions; second, the tolerance of the electrode hole and the joint is improperly matched or the connection torque does not meet the requirements, resulting in a withdrawal; third, third, the fluctuation range of secondary current in the power supply is too large or there is a sudden increase phenomenon, the maximum instantaneous current is far more than 1.2 times the rated value; fourth, when the output power is too large, the thermal vibration is too large, and the electrode connection is red and the display resistance is too large. The sound is muffled when broken.
