Calculation of Graphite Electrode Consumption in Electric Furnace Smelting
The calculation of electrode consumption in the smelting process has two co-existing concepts of net consumption and gross consumption (including submerged arc furnace). The sum lost due to not participating in smelting. At present, the steel industry evaluates the physical quality of graphite electrodes by gross consumption.
1. Output method
The output method is based on the amount of molten steel (finished product) produced in a certain period of time, and the consumption is calculated by deducting the remaining amount on the furnace from the input amount of graphite electrodes in the same period.
Gross consumption of graphite electrode per ton of steel: MM=MZ/MG
Net consumption of graphite electrode per ton of steel: MJ=MC/MG
Among them: MZ is the total consumption of the electrode (the input amount - the remaining amount on the furnace), KG/T;
MC is the pure consumption of the electrode (input amount - remaining amount on the furnace - loss amount), KG/T;
MG is the finished product quantity of molten steel, T.
2. Power consumption method
The power consumption method is based on the cumulative power consumption of pure heating time in a certain period of time, and the input amount of graphite electrodes in the same period minus the remaining amount on the furnace is the consumption amount (for LF furnace, the power consumption and electrode per 1°C temperature rise are calculated. ). Electrode consumption per kWh:
MX=1000*MC/QH
Among them: MC is the pure consumption of the electrode (the input amount - the remaining amount on the furnace - the loss amount), KG/T; QH is the cumulative amount of electricity consumption during the pure heating time, KW*H.
The output method basically uses gross consumption as the calculation method, and the calculation base is based on the output of finished products. Although the power consumption method does not consider the loss part other than the consumption of smelting technology, this part of the loss must be considered in the assessment of the steel mill. In summary, it is unfair to evaluate the consumption of graphite electrodes in smelting at this stage.
As a carbon industry, a comprehensive evaluation method should be actively recommended. That is to say, the industry should actively recommend the comprehensive evaluation method based on the output method. That is to say, the overall quality level and adaptability of graphite electrodes are evaluated by the output method; the electrode quality and furnace conditions between batches are compared by the power consumption method; at the same time, other consumptions in smelting must be considered. In this way, both the supply and demand sides pay attention to the quality of the electrode, and also pay attention to the change of the electric furnace condition, so as to achieve the purpose of promoting the best operation state in the optimal use of the electrode.
