Graphite crystallizer

The introduction of horizontal continuous casting production equipment has greatly promoted the development of my country's copper alloy horizontal continuous casting technology and copper strip pressure processing technology. In horizontal continuous casting, mold technology is the key to continuous casting production, and graphite material is the key to horizontal continuous casting.
Therefore, understanding the characteristics of graphite and in-depth analysis of various factors affecting the graphite mold in the continuous casting process are crucial to the use of graphite, reducing consumption and reducing costs.
Graphite has the following characteristics and is widely used in the mold, one of the cores of horizontal continuous casting.
(1) High temperature resistance: The melting point of graphite is 3850±50℃, and the boiling point is 4250℃. Even if it is burned by an ultra-high arc, the weight loss is very small, and the thermal expansion coefficient is also small. The strength of graphite increases with increasing temperature, and at 2000°C, the strength of graphite doubles.
(2) Electrical and thermal conductivity: The electrical conductivity of graphite is twice as high as that of ordinary non-metals. The thermal conductivity exceeds that of metal materials such as steel, iron, and lead, and the thermal conductivity decreases with the increase of temperature. Even at extremely high temperatures, graphite is an insulator.
(3) Lubricity: The lubricating performance of graphite depends on the size of the graphite flakes. The larger the flakes, the smaller the friction coefficient and the better the lubricating performance.
(4) Chemical stability: Graphite has good chemical stability at room temperature, and is resistant to acid, alkali and organic solvent corrosion.
(5) Plasticity: Graphite has good toughness and can be rolled into very thin sheets.
(6) Thermal shock resistance: When graphite is used at high temperature, it can withstand severe changes in temperature without damage. When the temperature changes suddenly, the volume of graphite changes little, and cracks will not occur.
The graphite crystallizer is always immersed in high-temperature copper water when in use, and is in contact with various metal and non-metal oxides and gases in the copper liquid. The metal liquid and precipitates adhere to the surface of the graphite mold, and the uneven surface of the casting will have a great impact on the life of the graphite mold. The graphite mold must maintain a stable shape under great mechanical stress and thermal stress. Size and performance ensure good quality and service life. Therefore, high strength, high density, high purity, high wear resistance, isotropy,
high temperature impact resistance and no cracking are required.
The small-sized high-purity, high-strength, high-density, fine-grained graphite produced by SHJ is very suitable for the production of horizontal continuous casting graphite molds, which can obtain good strip quality and ensure the normal continuous production of horizontal continuous casting without frequent replacement of graphite crystallizer.
